Wrigley is a truly global company. Our gum is a part of everyday life in more than 150 countries across the globe. In Australia, our headquarters and factory are in Asquith, NSW, while our international corporate headquarters are located in the Wrigley Building at 410 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, USA.

We have 14 manufacturing factories worldwide: four in North America, four in Europe, one in Africa, and five in the Asia/Pacific region.

Unfortunately we don't offer factory tours because our factories are not equipped to handle visitors.

The ingredient Aspartame has been safely used for over 25 years. It is one of the most rigorously tested food additives in history and is proven to be safe.

The Wrigley Company uses only those ingredients that have been approved by both national and international food authorities. These independent bodies are established to protect the health of consumers and Aspartame has been given the approval of FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand). Based on this approval, we are confident of its safe use in our chewing gum products.

what is phenylalanine?

Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid found naturally in many foods and is used as one of the basic building blocks by the body to build proteins for muscles etc.

what is phenylketonuria?

Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a rare metabolic disorder that results when the Phenylketonuria gene is inherited from both parents.

why is the phenylketonurics advisory label displayed on packaging?

A small percentage of individuals are born with this rare hereditary disorder. They are unable to metabolise phenylalanine adequately and need to control their intake of this amino acid from all food sources.

As a regulatory requirement food products containing Aspartame are labelled as such to alert these consumers of the presence of Phenylalanine.

Individuals who have PKU are aware of it. All infants in Australia and New Zealand are screened at birth.
